DAY 5 OF DAY 84

At first I hit the snooze button ...... asked my dear husband to take the dog out and went back to bed. But not for long. Not sure if it was the noise that was going on down in the kitchen, cupboards closing - pots banging or the dog barking. But I quickly got out of bed, brushed my teeth, had a sip of water and fully dressed to workout made my way downstairs. All the way downstairs to my treadmill. I figured, could not sleep - completely awake, why waste it - just get up and move.

And that is what I did - 1 full hour of moderate steady cardio, burning 339 calories. 40 minutes on the treadmill working with different inclines and on the bike for 20 minutes. Good resistance, good sweat.

Food has been bang on as well today. Fighting the urges to head to the local Bulk Barn on an hourly bases and even after dropping my daughter at Day Camp I thought about it half a dozen times on the way home. Should I do it? And maybe if I knew 100% that is was open that early at 9am I just may have made the trip. But I did not - and I found an hour later, a sweet refreshing gala apple and 3oz of cooked grilled chicken breast with tons of water did the trick. So still fighting -- but bedtime is just around the corner .......... I think I can muster the will to stay the course.

Day 4 of Day 84

MORNING OF DAY 4: This week has been a trying week and I have been trying to be optimistic and get in those powerful workouts. I was up and doing shoulders and triceps this morning along with my regular cardio session. I am completely PMSing -- I can feel it which explains why I can not stay focused, feel like I want to eat everything in the pantry. The plus side is of course that I have no crap in the house. I do have some organic flour mix that would allow me to make some yummy carb filling waffles - some organic syrup. But too much trouble and it gives me an opportunity to think twice about doing it. Which is a good thing :D

So here I am at 10am and my next meal is 30 minutes away so I am drinking some green tea. So I am hoping blogging will help and aiding my body with some great antioxidants. I am holding strong LOL

Day 3 of Day 84

Well that good night sleep did not happen, but I made up for it with a nap today. A 45 minute power nap made me feel better and my evening is not dragging so much. I got up at 5am took the dog out and went downstairs. Got on the treadmill for 10 minutes and than shut it off. Just was too tired and after 3 days of heavy lifting in a row I could feel like I was just doing more harm than good. A quick stretch and I was back in bed till 7am. Not the most restful sleep but I had the luxury of relaxing for a bit after dropping my daughter of at day camp.

Took advantage of some time to do some laundry and took the dog out for a nice long walk. Cleared my head a bit and once the clouds broke out it was really nice. I am hoping I find the energy to get in my workout tomorrow AM. I figured shoulders and triceps -- and at some point I need to get in some abs.

Eating today has been great and my cravings are back in full force for carbs - so instead of fighting them I have enjoyed some clean complex carbs like rice and yams and loaded on some extra veggies especially carrots. Something sweet -- but not a chocolate bar :) It is a start.

Day 2 of Day 84

So today marks day 2 and what a powerful day it was. My leg workout was great this morning along with 35 minutes total of cardio. As I started my 10 minutes warm-up on the treadmill, I started questioning myself whether or not my legs had it in me today. But around the 7th minutes they started feeling warm and limber and I knew that a heavy leg workout was in the cards. And strong it was!!!

Eating was great and kept it clean. Made my extra lean turkey patties and really enjoyed those as Meal#2. Meal #1 was egg whites and plain oatmeal. Had a serving of strawberry whey protein with 2 teaspoons of peanut butter for Meal#3, while at Meal#4 I had a couple of plums and tried mixing cabbage in with my egg whites -- quite good. The plan for Meal#5 will be chicken and vegetables and maybe juice some them in my juicer. Nothing like a refreshing home made juice to get in those extra antioxidants in along with some energy. On to day 3 tomorrow -- and tonight will be a great night sleep.

DAY 1 OF DAY 84

So the day has come to an end for me and my workouts have been intense. Did I say "WORKOUTS -- plural?? You bet I did. I figured this would be a good week to get in some extra cardio in and start burning some fat and get a leaner and more defined midsection. My abs are lean, but I want leaner and I want a more noticeable waistline.

I figured with my daughter at day camp from 9am-noon, I could get in that extra cardio session of 20-30 minutes of HIIT in there along with my regular 5:30am strength training and cardio workout. We will see how my energy fairs and today was not so bad. I did have to have a cup of green tea around 3:30pm while I read a book and took a power nap for 30 minutes. But overall not bad. My legs are feeling tight and I can tell I have worked them along with my chest. Not to mention my back and biceps are still pretty sore form yesterday workout. So my upper body is tight and my lower body, specifically my quads are feeling it too.

My eating today has been great eating every 3 hours and keeping protein high and carbs fairly moderate. Tried a new recipe today and it was great, certainly going to be one of my favorites and one that I will enjoy a couple of times a week. All my food is prepared for tomorrow and I am feeling in control. Not sure what tomorrow will bring and doing legs tomorrow maybe suicidal but we will see how tomorrow plays out. I will probably stick to my regular leg workout and forgo my 2nd cardio session. Keep it simple and light. 4-5 exercises, 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps.

One day at a time. One day at a time for real progress.

I Just Can't.....

I just can't seem to stick it blogging daily or even on a fairly regular bases. What is up with that?

I have decided to give myself a 12 week challenge - and really experiment with some new exercise routines and experiment with new macros and see how my body response. Keeping track of how I feel and how I look will be key and well just going to just be more accountable. I mean I have been for months, working out 4-5 times a week. Hitting every body part once a week and cardio 4-5 weeks as well, generally lasting from 30-40 minutes.

So what is different now? Well I am going to really try to manipulate my physique and be on top of it. I workout hard and now I am going to clean my eating and work even harder at getting a greater physique. One that I can be proud of. Mind you - I am very proud of how I look now. My arms look great, even in tank tops. My legs look good in short shorts. Of course I think my quads could look leaner, but I am working on that. A work in progress.

So now to commit to blogging daily and really focusing on calculating my macros to fit my strength training routines and gadget my mood. Vegas is just around the corner, and of course the countdown is still on, but I am going to take it beyond vacation and beyond my week away. I am giving myself 84 days -- 12 weeks to get into top shape. Here we go :)
