Day 3 of Day 100

Today was Chest, Triceps, Abs and Cardio day. WOOHOO:D I decided for the next 6 weeks I would really focus on buidling lean muscle and losing body fat. Figured the best way to do it this time around would be to workout 5 days on strength training and split up body parts, aiming for 3 exercises 4 sets of 15 reps: Chest&Triceps; Back & Biceps, Quads & Calves; Hamstring & Calves, Shoulders & Abs. I am hoping to through in abs twice a week but first I will see how I get through it. I will be cycling calories with low-moderate carbs and high carb days.

Tomorrow I am planning on doing my first ever Yoga class. Me? Yoga? I know, I am wondering if I will fall asleep. I am use to the pump and the sweat dripping down my back. Think this may be different, but I have a sneaky suspicion that this will be far more intense than I think. Hoping to get in some moderate/incline cardio as well on the treadmill. Wish me luck and I will report how Day 4 of Day 100 is tomorrow and my experience with Yoga.

Day 2 of Day 100

Today was an off day so I was sure to keep me and my little girl busy. We were out of the house by 8:30am doing groceries and I picked some great produce and some extra lean meat. We were off to the mall at 11:20am to catch a movie at 12:20pm. We got our tickets and of course hit the concession stand. I got the kiddie pail for Madison and a bottle water for me. Well that worked out well :) No popcorn, no snacking -- nothing. I came prepared with a protein bar for after the movies and made it past every news stand without even glancing in to see what processed sugar was all over the shelf. So made it out of the mall, through the food court and out the door with any episodes. Nothing that I could sit make and regret later. Good day. Meals are planned for the rest of the night, so I have this one in the bag. Tomorrow is strength training for chest and triceps and getting in some cardio. Looking forward to the gym :D

Day 1 of Day 100

Our 3rd family trip is booked and our departure date is September 5th. Exactly 100 days away. Vegas baby -- here we come. We have a timeshare at the Grandsview, so this will be the first year we are using our luxury one-bedroom condo equipped with a full kitchen. Makes meal planning easier and more enjoyable, especially with a three year old.

So I thought this would be a good time frame - to keep the consistency with my workouts and meal plans and blog about it. So here is Day 1 of Day 100. Today I did Quads, Calves and Hamstrings at the gym. We are talking Barbell Squats, Stiff-legged Dead lifts, Walking lunges, Leg Extensions, Leg curls and weighted and non-weight calf raises. 3-4 sets of each exercise at 12-15 reps. I could feel the burn as I followed up with 30 minutes of cardio. 20 minutes on the EFX and 10 minutes on the bike. I wanted to do the cross-trainer but with my upper body workout for back and biceps yesterday I knew getting through even the warm-up portion would be a struggle. This way, using the EFX I could completely focus on my lower body and give my back a break. It needed it :D

I have to really sit down and put together a meal plan and stick to it. Get it all down and really prepare my foods for the day, each and everyday. This way I will not stray away and get in a few extra nibbles of anything else. Need to get my macros all under control. Nutrition has to be clean if I want to reap the nbenefits of all teh hard work I am putting in at the gym.

Something to think about ..........

We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

-Carlos Casaneda

I love this quote and I try to reflect on it every time when I think that chocolate chip cookie will make me feel better. Well the real complication is when that one chocolate chip cookie is not enough. Just a little something to think about when you feel that temptations are worth giving in to. Ask yourself ---- are they?
